C Y N T H I A & S E R E N

Sacramento, CA

Even before Seren proposed, I was already doing so much research on the styles that I liked and looking for a color scheme that just really spoke to who Seren and I were as a couple. Instead of feeling the anticipated stress from when it finally came time for me to plan our wedding, I felt completely in my element. I loved reading and stories so getting married in the beautiful Tsakopoulous Library Galleria just made so much sense. Seren and I are also pretty easy going people and fun-natured, so we wanted a whimsical theme that would give the indoor space a bit of a fun outdoor picnic feel. Seren and my dad built custom white fences that we put around the cake table and as a backdrop for the sign-in table. We added some green garlands around the fence to create that garden atmosphere. Then to tie that in with the dining tables, we created whimsical pinwheel fans for the table numbers that attached to the centerpieces. We also built a pinwheel backdrop for the stage and created huge paper blossoms to add to dessert table backdrop to tie in the different sections of the room together. Even though we had both had huge families, we wanted to have guests come in and have a sense of a fun, whimsical, and intimate family picnic gathering. After planning our wedding, I felt even more confident about what I wanted to do - and that is to continue to design, plan, and bring out other couples' personalities and stories into the event space.
